From Birth to Burnout- When you Grow up on the "Wrong Side of the Tracks"
For most of my life, I believed exhaustion was just the price of being responsible.
I was the one who pushed through.
The one who figured things out.
The one who kept going even when my body said slow down.
On the outside, life looked successful. I built a career, earned my master’s degree in organizational leadership, and spent decades doing what many high-functioning women do—holding everything together.
But underneath it all, my nervous system had been running in survival mode for years. I didn’t realize it then, but I was caught in the push–collapse cycle. Push harder. Keep going. Ignore the signals. Then eventually crash. What followed was one of the hardest seasons of my life—what many would call a dark night of the soul. I lost much of what I had spent thirty years building. My health, my stability, and the life I thought I had carefully constructed all unraveled.

That season forced me to ask a deeper question: Why do so many capable, caring women end up completely exhausted?
The answers led me into neuroscience, trauma-informed health coaching, and the science of how early experiences shape the nervous system.
What I discovered is something most women were never taught: Burnout isn’t a motivation problem.
It’s often a capacity problem inside the nervous system.
Today, my work focuses on helping women recognize the patterns that quietly lead to burnout and rebuild the capacity their bodies have been missing.
Not just so they feel better—but so they don’t spend decades of their lives running on autopilot or stuck in survival mode. Because when a woman begins to understand her nervous system, something powerful happens.
She can show up differently in her life.
As a mother.
A daughter.
A sister.
A wife.
A friend.
And when that shift happens, the ripple effect reaches the next generation. Because the cycle of burnout doesn’t have to continue.
